Special Issues
Plans and ideas for special issues
The WG is already involved in a special issue:
- Multi-Modal and Multi-Task Learning in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (Remote Sensing, published by MDPI (Martin Weinmann, Co-Guest Editor; Deadline for manuscript submissions: 15 March 2023): https://www.mdpi.com/journal/remotesensing/special_issues/9C1GA1KPTH
A second special issue is planned for the journal “PFG – Journal of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation Science” (https://www.springer.com/journal/41064). The special issue will be dedicated to the Semantics3D workshop planned by the WG officials to be held in the context of the Geospatial Week 2023 in Cairo. After the workshop, authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers to the journal.
The WG also strives to publish at least one additional Theme Issue of one of the journals published by the ISPRS or of other journals in the field on subjects related to its terms of reference. Potential topics could yet again arise from the topics of WG-related workshops, e.g., based on a call for submitting substantially extended workshop papers to a journal. If the benchmark of the WG is published early enough, there could also be a special issue dedicated to it, in which authors would describe their methods and their results achieved for the benchmark dataset.
