GeoHB 2025

GeoHB 2025: the 2nd International Workshop on Geo-spatial Computing for Understanding Human Behaviors

Tongji University, Shanghai, China, on November 15-16, 2025.

Urban spaces and human behaviors are intricately linked, shaping each other while driving challenges like pollution and equitable access to opportunities. Harnessing spatial big data and AI technologies offers a powerful approach to understanding the dynamic interactions between individuals and urban environments, providing important insights to address urban challenges more effectively. This workshop focuses on cutting-edge advancements in the data-driven study of human urban behaviors and the underlying mechanisms governing and outlining the interaction between them and urban environments. Topics in the scope of the workshop include spatial data representation and interoperability, geo-computation and geo-simulation, and GeoAI.

The first workshop was successfully held during the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2023 in Cairo, Egypt. This year, the workshop will be held independently at Tongji University, Shanghai, China, where the chair of the ISPRS WG IV/6 is based. The workshop will provide an in-person international venue, offering researchers an opportunity to share and exchange new ideas. Excellent papers from the workshop will be recommended for publication in the special issueHuman Behavior and Urban Environments: Artificial Intelligence-Based Approachesfeatured in Transactions in GIS.

Join us to explore innovative ideas, ongoing projects, and groundbreaking findings in this field
